Engagement Photography
Please read some tips below for your engagement photo session.
Great tips from another photographer...
One big thing to remember: the camera can only take pictures of what is in front of it.
Definitely plan ahead of time as far as locations, poses, and the time of day you want the photos taken at. If you take the photos at noon the sun will be directly over you and you will have dark shadows in your eyes and under your nose--not very flattering. Don't just assume that the photographer is going to take photos that you will love, you have to help the photographer with that by picking out your poses and locations. Everyone has a different expectation when it comes to their E-Photos and you need to relay to your photographer exactly what you want!
As far as a hair style--I wouldn't try anything too bold or different right before getting the photos taken. Just like your senior photos--you might not like your hairstyle and you might not be able to change it in time. Go with something tried and true that you know you like. I dyed my hair black (it's normally a medium brown) two weeks before my senior pictures in high school and they look terrible!!!
Clothing -- wear something that you feel absolutely fabulous in. Something that flatters your figure, a color that compliments your skin tone, and make sure that it is something timeless that isn't easily dated. Example: think about the 80's! You don't want to look back at your photos and think "What in the world was I thinking when I wore that?" HOWEVER- although you may feel fabulous in one thing, if you are wearing red and your fiance is wearing green.... I think you get the message. Wear something that complements you both. In other words, plan your looks as a pair, not individuals!
And remember to SMILE and be happy! You're getting married and these photos should reflect your joy!!! Good luck!
